Breakaway Daily Exclusive Interview
I was interviewed by Breakaway Daily, an international digital magazine that publishes the world’s freshest and most inspiring people, places, and ideas.
Here’s an excerpt from the exclusive interview:
What is your favorite quote or line of dialogue from the book?
“I refuse to believe that the measure of everything in life is what you pay for it. How do you put a price on happy memories? Or regrets? Or longings?”

Author Interview with Jay Lemming
I spoke with fellow author Jay Lemming on his blog. Jay is the author of the novel Billy Maddox Takes His Shot the first story in the upcoming Maddox Men Series, which recounts several generations of men from the Maddox family, dating back to the late 19th century.
Here’s an excerpt from the interview:
Money Matters is described as a literary thriller. What gives is literary merit? What makes it more than a simple genre-based thriller such as a John Grisham or David Balducci novel?
A number of things. Firstly it is a (late) coming-of-age novel, which suggests ways in which a life can change. Secondly it incorporates – or better – dramatizes social and political issues of our era. As the title indicates, it (especially Jenny) grapples with America’s money culture – to what extent can anyone resist it? Because it is dividing our country. And it confronts the divergent attitudes to immigration. A number of characters are immigrants, some undocumented.

News and Updates – My Eighth Newsletter
I sent out my eighth newsletter, sharing important updates with my subscribers.
Jacky and I, finding ourselves freer than before, spent four weeks in Europe from mid-October to mid-November.
This week I have been interviewed twice. One is with SPLASH magazine, and the other interview is with Breakaway Magazine. I even completed some written interviews while I was away in Europe. One of the most informed interviewers, Jay Lemming, asked interesting questions.
There’s more, and you can view the full newsletter by clicking either the image or the button on the left.

Author Meet & Greet by Sue Rovens
I had a great interview with Sue Rovens, a suspense author. She writes about “real” people in familiar settings who face the bizarre, the weird, and the unknown. Here’s a short excerpt from the interview:
How much does personal experience play in your written work?
Obviously my profession as a university teacher of literature determined the kind of nonfiction books I wrote earlier in my life. Having taught students how to read and interpret fiction I was happy to try writing a novel myself once I stopped full-time teaching. Money Matters, my debut novel, made immigration a major issue. Only after finishing it did I realize that of course I was an immigrant and had experienced some of the challenges my immigrant characters faced in the novel.
